Added on: 02.06.2023
The new investment, with a total area of almost 30,000 m2, will include an office part and a warehouse with as many as 50 loading docks. The innovative complex, located at ul. Azymutalna and designed in accordance with the requirements of the LEED® green building certification system, will become the new headquarters of Klima-Therm Group in Gdańsk and its main warehouse and logistics centre for the whole of Europe.

Klima-Therm – one of the largest suppliers of air conditioning, ventilation, heating and RES systems that has been active in the Polish market since 1996 – in February 2023 began the construction of its headquarters in Gdańsk at ul. Azymutalna, in the immediate vicinity of the Lech Wałęsa Airport.

The investment will include a five-storey office building, training and research facilities and a warehouse with 50 loading docks, which will ultimately serve as Klima-Therm Group's main logistics hub for Europe. The project involves the simultaneous construction of a warehouse and an office building with the surrounding infrastructure. The warehouse, with a surface area of 21,300 m2, will be equipped with an automated smart storage system, ensuring increased efficiency of logistical processes. The office building, with a surface area of 6,100 m2, is adjacent to the warehouse and is designed to house office and conference rooms, training and research facilities, as well as a social area, providing workspace for more than 200 people. Environmentally friendly, low-carbon and zero-energy solutions, as well as responsibility and care for nature, are the basic design principles of a building with a name that refers to its location – AZYMUTALNA (Azimuth Street).

- "Our new investment project is a natural consequence of the company's dynamic growth. The excellent location, unique architecture and high standard of finish will create the perfect conditions for working and increasing our business dynamics. Moreover, given the ecological challenges of today's world, I am delighted that our innovative construction project will be implemented in accordance with the principles of the ESG concept and according to the standards set by the multi-criteria LEED® green building certification system dedicated to buildings" - explains owner Daniel Jaśkiewicz, President of the Management Board of Klima-Therm.

An experienced studio from Gdańsk – ARPRO Pracownia Projektowa Sp. z o.o. – as well as architects Katarzyna Jędrzejczak and Michał Siedacz are responsible for the architectural design of the AZYMUTALNA complex and the aspect of multi-discipline coordination. ARPRO's track record includes its cooperation in the design of some of the most recognisable buildings in Gdańsk, such as the DEO Plaza and Waterlane, as well as Poland's first DGNB® Platinum-certified production and warehouse complex for ETAC Polska in Tczew.

The interior design of offices at AZYMUTALNA was entrusted to the acclaimed architectural studio The Design Group from Warsaw. The design combines industrial character with the simplicity of Japanese minimalism, to create a tranquil atmosphere promoting creativity and collaboration. Designers from The Design Group will also be responsible for the visual identity throughout the building, where every detail will be aligned with the company's branding.

- "We are proud to be part of this exciting and complex project. Our aim is to create a functional and ergonomic space that adapts to the individual needs of employees and enhances their well-being and efficiency. We also pay particular attention to using eco-friendly materials sourced from local suppliers and meeting sustainability standards. It is our great pleasure to support Klima-Therm in the certification of the new space and to suggest materials and solutions that meet the rigorous requirements of LEED (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) certification" - explains architect Konrad Krusiewicz, CEO of The Design Group.

Ecological materials will be used for the fabric of the building, while the necessary installations will take into account the need to minimise energy consumption and ensure the highest level of air quality and comfort in both office and utility premises. The facility's own PV system, with a total capacity of 1MWp, will cover the annual electricity needs of the building. In cooperation with a large-scale electricity storage facility of 500 kW with a capacity of 1,800 kWh and high-power heat pumps, we want to ensure that the building's annual use is fully balanced. The project is also set to include environmentally friendly solutions for both employees and clients, such as bicycle parking and electric vehicle charging stations.

The work is expected to be completed in Q4 2024.
