In November, Klima-Therm delivered the first series of lectures addressed to HVACR system designers. The lectures took place in all three training centres of the Klima-Therm Academy and had the form of business breakfasts combined with a substantive panel headed by product engineers from Poland and abroad. More than 80 people took part in this networking event.

The training sessions use the formula entitled “Business Breakfast by Klima-Therm” and constitute a substantive platform for the exchange of knowledge and opinions on the most current topics in the industry. The first meetings of designers and product engineers in the course of the scheduled lectures for 2018/19 were dedicated, among others, to ice water systems in the context of new refrigerants, the requirements of the F-gas Regulation and Ecodesign Directive (ErP), as well as the possibility of using low-energy cooling sources.

This panel was headed by foreign experts from G.I. Industrial Holding SPA, an Italian company which has cooperated with Klima-Therm since 2007. In the second part of the training, engineers from the Klima-Therm training department introduced the designers to the most important aspects of the selection and operation characteristics of systems which use VRF direct evaporation units combined with air handling units. The event ended with a discussion of the potential of heat pumps becoming a technology of growing popularity in energy efficient buildings.

– Current topics and their appropriate depiction, important from the point of view of a designer – these are key assumption that guided us at the planning stage of the event – explains Paweł Deska, Technical Director at Klima-Therm, and adds – “Business Breakfast” is a cycle of substantive lectures expanded with a case study, as well as a space for a dialogue necessary to identify the real needs of designers as our business partners. The development of technology, new legislative directives or market trends oblige us to constantly review our knowledge, which we feel should be disseminated to those in the industry. High attendance numbers and positive opinions of the participants convince us that the new training concept meets the objectives we have assumed.

The first meetings as part of the “Business Breakfast by Klima-Therm” took place at the beginning of November in all three training and research centres of the Klima-Therm Academy: in Gdańsk, Warsaw and Katowice. The company plans to continue the project, and develop its formula which combines regular stationary networking training – bringing together the community of HVACR system designers – with a series of webinars, i.e. interactive lectures delivered online. The project is scheduled for the 2018/19 season.
