Klima-Therm receives the Microsoft Software Asset Management certificate

Added on: 16.10.2019
Klima-Therm has successfully completed the verification process of IT solutions implemented five years ago, namely Microsoft Software Asset Management (SAM). The official presentation of the certificate, which confirms Klima-Therm’s implementation of best practices and SAM standards, took place in October 2019 in Warsaw in the presence of Microsoft representatives and Auditoria, the process auditor.

The Auditoria company, a recognised Microsoft partner, this year once again provided assistance during the auditing process linked to legality and veracity of the existing licensing and management procedures. The positive result of the audit resulted in Klima-Therm being awarded the SAM certificate of conformity, which was officially presented on 11 October 2019 at Klima-Therm headquarters in Warsaw. The certificate was handed by Monika Mickiewicz, SAM & Compliance Director at Microsoft, with the participation of Marcin Wojna, Auditoria’s representative. It was received by Andrzej Wójtowicz, IT & Administration Manager, who supervised the course of the project on behalf of Klima-Therm.

Klima-Therm Group’s scale of operations and its extensive network of branches – which includes as many as 11 branches in Poland – necessitate an effective system for managing its resources, including the IT infrastructure. In order to ensure full legal and technological security of the entire organisation, as well as to optimise software costs and increase data security, the Management Board of Klima-Therm decided to implement a control system compliant with the best practices of Microsoft SAM. SAM is a multi-stage process which involves the verification and optimisation of procedures and IT infrastructure, as well as the implementation of a coherent software management policy.

-Thanks to the implementation of comprehensive software management processes and optimisation of licenses, we can now ensure that our resources are accurately monitored and suitably adapted to current demands -emphasizes Andrzej Wójtowicz, IT & Administration Manager at Klima-Therm Group. - Efficient supervision over IT infrastructure is an essential element of effective budget management and helps to avoid risks associated with incurring unnecessary and uncontrollable costs. I am convinced that the continuous improvement of the implemented SAM processes and Klima-Therm Group’s subsequent investments in innovative technologies will not only set new standards for IT systems in the HVACR industry, but most importantly will become a stimulus for the growth of our business, helping us gain a further competitive advantage – adds Andrzej Wójtowicz.

The SAM licensing compliance process was conducted by Auditoria, an experienced Microsoft Partner in Software Asset Management in Poland, which has been repeatedly awarded the title of Partner of the Year (including for the past year of 2018). The project was divided into three stages. First of all, full verification of license compliance of the software was performed. In the following step, the existing processes and procedures in the company were reviewed, in particular: software planning, purchasing, implementation, management and withdrawal. The last phase of the project included the provision of advice on the migration of some services to cloud solutions, including the continuation of the implementation of Microsoft Azure and Office365 solutions.
